Obituary for Arthur Correia, Jr.

FAIRHAVEN-Arthur Correia, Jr., 80, of Fairhaven, died Friday, May 31, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Joan E. (Rose) Correia with whom he shared 39 years of marriage and son of the late Arthur G. Correia, Sr. and Louise (Silva) Correia.
Born in New Bedford, Mr. Correia resided in Fairhaven since 1977.
He was employed on the waterfront since 1959 and as a foreman and truck driver for Carlos Seafood for 30 years until his retirement.
Mr. Correia was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His family includes his wife, Joan E. Correia of Fairhaven; 3 daughters, Melissa Correia of Marietta, Georgia, Jacqueline Rose of Virginia Beach, Virginia and the late Jennifer Rose; 4 sons, Arthur J. Correia and his wife, Lisa, Darryl J. Correia, Michael A. Correia and Donald W. Correia, all of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Dorothy Miranda and Pauline Correia, both of New Bedford; 1 brother, Stanley Correia and his wife, Marilyn of Biloxi, Mississippi; 8 grandchildren, Janell, Shaylene, Kiana, Rheanne, Ciara, Donald Wayne "D. J. ", Malik and Marques; 9 great-grandchildren, Kiari, Micaiah, Jordyn, Jayden, Tiana, Travis, Raylyn, Tylee and Avery; his nieces and godchildren, Lori-Ann Miranda and Nicole Quinones and several other nieces and nephews and a cousin and godchild, Rodney Gonsalves.
