Obituary for Carlos A. Dias

NEW BEDFORD-Carlos A. Dias, 75, of New Bedford, died Monday, March 4, 2019 at Brandon Woods Of Dartmouth. He was the husband of Ernestina M. “Tina” Dias of New Bedford with whom he shared 37 years of marriage, father of Jonathan E. Dias of New Bedford and son of the late Arthur and Aida (Silva) Dias.
Born in Angra, do Herismo, Terceira, Azores, he resided in New Bedford for 63 years and was a parishioner of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church.
Mr. Dias was employed as a charter coach driver for Almeida Bus Co. and was also a driver for Tremblay Bus Co. for 25 years. He was the owner of Coastal Bus Co.
Carlos enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, dining out, casinos, and was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He was always the life of the party.
His family includes his wife; his son; 2 sisters, Mary F. Silva of Dartmouth and Lucy M. Dias of New Bedford; nieces and nephews, Carlos Mota of Acushnet, Michelle Mota-Duarte and her husband, Bruce Duarte, Jr., Melissa Pacheco, Shawn Gibbons, Jr. and his wife, Marissa, Sydney Mota and Jasmyn Duarte, all of New Bedford.
Funeral from the AUBERTINE-LOPES FUNERAL HOME, 129 Allen St. New Bedford, Friday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours in the funeral home Thursday 5:00-8:00 P.M.
