Obituary for Deanna Lynn Morris

BOSTON-Deanna Lynn Morris, 40, of New Bedford, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Brigham & Women's Hospital after a lengthy period of declining health. She was born in New Bedford, the daughter of Luis Ortiz and Matilda J. (Burgo) Sanchez and the former wife of Cory Pina. She attended Bridgewater State University and graduated from Bristol Community College with an Associate's Degree. She was formerly employed as a Lab Technician in St. Luke's Hospital and various other hospitals. Deanna had an appreciation for arts and crafts and in her leisure time enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include her father: Luis Ortiz of New Bedford; mother: Matilda J. (Burgo) Sanchez and her step father John of New Bedford; her former husband Cory Pina of New Bedford; 2 sons: Cory J. Pina, Jr. of New Bedford and his girlfriend Mariana and Jayden A. Pina of New Bedford; 1 daughter: Jenae A. Pina of New Bedford; brothers: Sean Gracia of New Bedford and the late Mark Gracia; sisters: Jacqueline Diallo of New Bedford, Linda Gracia of New Bedford, Lisa Gracia of New Bedford and Christie Wilson of Savannah, Georgia; 1 grandchild: Zariyah Russell; several nieces and nephews. She was the aunt of the late Jonathan Gracia and Malcolm Gracia.
Visiting hours will be Monday evening from 5:00-8:00, with a funeral service to be conducted at a time to be announced. Funeral arrangements entrusted to AUBERTINE-LOPES FUNERAL HOME, 129 Allen Street. Expanded lighted parking area with handicap accessible entrance to rear of funeral home.
