Obituary for Dorothy M. Cromwell

NEW BEDFORD-Dorothy M. Cromwell, 91, of New Bedford, died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Brandon Woods Of New Bedford following a period of declining health. She was the daughter of the late Calvin J. and Lena E. (Silvester) Cromwell.
Born in Rochester, she resided in Wareham for many years and also in Connecticut before relocating to New Bedford in 1993.
She was employed as a caretaker for a family in Wareham for many years.
Dorothy enjoyed singing, dancing and socializing.
Her family includes her son, Jonathan Cromwell of New Bedford; her daughters, Deborah Kirkland and her husband, Reginald of Brownsville, Texas, Gloria Cromwell of New Bedford, Roslinde Cromwell of New Bedford and Maryjane Cromwell of Ansonia, Connecticut; her brother, James Robert "Jimmy" Cromwell of Virginia; her sister, Lucy Ann Cromwell of Connecticut; 9 grandchildren including the late Adrian Cromwell; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Jeannette Cromwell and Beatrice M. Cromwell and sister of the late McKinley "Sonny" Cromwell, Calvin J. "Buddy" Cromwell, Lorenzo "Renny" Cromwell and Gertrude "Trudy" Cromwell.
Her service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 6:30 P.M. Visitation prior to the service beginning at 5:00 P.M. Cremation to follow.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to AUBERTINE-LOPES FUNERAL HOME, 129 Allen St., New Bedford.
