Jeffrey Francis Nunes
Jeffrey Francis Nunes of Cambridge passed away Tuesday, November 6, due to complications following surgery. He was 77. Jeff lived most of his adult life in Boston and was a resident of Cambridge for the past 25 years. The oldest of seven children, Jeff was born and raised in New Bedford, attended parochial school, served as an altar boy at St. James Church, and was active in Junior Achievement and community theater. He was a 1959 graduate of Holy Family High School, attended Boston University, and retired from Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Company as a trust officer. An interest in history, arts and culture led Jeff to travel extensively, with Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon, Cairo, Istanbul and Rio de Janeiro among his many destinations.
Jeff was a son of the late Margaret (Muttart) Nunes and Joseph Pinheiro Nunes, and brother of the late Mary Nunes and Margaret Nunes. He is survived by his sisters Denise Nunes, Christine Sylvia and her husband Randall, and Rosemary Nunes and her partner George Whalen, brothers Joseph Nunes and his wife Sandra, and Philip Nunes, nephews Craig Landgraf, Kyle Landgraf, Damien Nunes and Randall Sylvia, Jr., as well as several aunts, an uncle, numerous cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church in New Bedford. Visitation prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., at Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery.
