Obituary for Michael J. O'Leary, III

DARTMOUTH-Michael J. O'Leary, III, 58, of Dartmouth died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was the son of the late Michael J. O'Leary, Jr. and Emogene M. “Jeanne” (Baum) O'Leary.
Born in Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey, he relocated to New Bedford with his family as a young child and resided in Dartmouth for many years. He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Michael was employed as a welder at Fairhaven Shipyard until his retirement and was previously employed building submarines at Quonset Point Naval Air Station.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed metal detecting, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Morse Twist Drill Fishing Club. Michael played golf in his younger days, coached Fairhaven Little League and enjoyed attending auctions.
His family includes his 2 sons, Michael J. O'Leary, IV and his wife, Sophia and Matthew J. O'Leary and his mother, Sandra Kuczewski, who was also Michaels' fiancee, all of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Christionna and Makayla O' Leary, Michael J. O'Leary, V, Isaiah Cortes and Malachi O'Leary.
He was the brother of the late Mark A. O'Leary.
Visiting hours are omitted. His Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Julie Billiart Church on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery.
